Magical Moment


It is raining today...looks like many of the cherry blossoms will be blown away by the wind tonight. And it hasn't even been a week since I started posting these photos!

But I guess that is what makes these cherry blossoms so special. They tend to reach full bloom suddenly, and for a moment everywhere you look it's magical. Then before you know it, they're once again gone for another year.

But what a moment it is.

    Last night I walked home in the rain. I passed underneath several cherry trees. When I got home, I noticed tiny pink petals stuck on my umbrella. That was a rather philosophical moment ... :)

    If you still need a sakura fix it isn’t too late. There are still bloomers other than the somei yoshino at Tama Forest Science Garden near Takao Station. From Shinjuku it might be cheaper to take the Keio Line but the Chuo Line works too. No holidays in April! Maybe you can see which ones are in bloom here. When you click the photos you can see that some haven’t started to bloom by April 12th.
