We Stand United
Our Shinjuku skyscrapers looming above the city.
From the left is Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower (newly built in 2008), Shinjuku Center Building (the tallest of the four buildings at 54 stories), Shinjuku L Tower (closest to the station), and Sonpo Japan Headquarter Building (also called "bell bottom bldg" because of its shape).
Even though I really like seeing this view...I was glad to leave all this behind and head home to start my weekend. Happy Friday to you all!
Enjoy looking at more beautiful skies all around the world here.

What a great picture !!!
ReplyDeleteI love this scenery completed with an impressive cocoon building against blue sky. It seems a symbolic space in Syinjyuku.
ReplyDeleteThey do appear to almost be hugging each other. Definitely a close-knit friendship. :))
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, and happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo. Love the angle. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like the unusual shape of the Cocoon and the overall beauty of this picture. By the way to name a building 'bell bottom' like the old jeans is too cool: you have to post some more about this tower!
ReplyDeleteP.S. - Have a nice trip home!
ReplyDeletei really like this. love the sky colors and the angle of the shot. nice one!
ReplyDeletei definite love the color of the sky, dreamy! ^0^
ReplyDeletei wish you a nice and relaxing weekend kaori.
Interesting names.
ReplyDeleteYour skywatch shots are magnificent Kaori.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous shot Kaori! I love the little bit of pink down at the bottom right of the picture.
ReplyDeleteas bit as if they were challenging eachother who's talest. great picture.

Blue grey sky scrapers, love the angle, you've made them look like they are almost touching!Great shot Kaori.
ReplyDeleteLove that rosy-fingered time of day.
ReplyDeleteA peek at the “bell-bottom building’s bell bottoms” here.
A stellar cityscape against the skyscape photo, Kaori! And now I'm curious who is the main architect of that cocoon design.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a nice weekend :)
ReplyDeleteKaori, I love this expression, looming above the city. Very poetic and romantic. Beautiful sunset over Shinjuku!
ReplyDelete@Francisca:
ReplyDeleteThe architect of Cocoon Tower is Tange Associates founded by the late Tange Kenzo. (The link is at the above link under “Design” or here).
Kaori showed us other of this architect’s buildings on April 22, 2011 here.
Thanks, Tall Gary. I'm not at all surprised it won the Skyscraper of the year award in 2008! The earlier skyscraper Kaori posted was also good, but I like this one better.
ReplyDeleteWonderful colors!!! And I love the skyline!
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of NY's twin towers...
