Love and Peace

Not all festivals we have here are traditional Japanese festivals.

This was at the Peace Festival at Ochiai Park last week. They had booths with organic food and other natural goods. There was also a stage with live music. This guy was playing an instrument I've never seen but the music was soft and soothing. There were many people sitting around the stage listening to him play.

  1. That is so neat that y'all have a Peace Festival! What a great idea! And I love this photo, how the musician is framed by the colorful lanterns overhead and the colorful quilt below. I have never seen a quilt that was made entirely of tie-dyed fabric. It is very pretty and unique. I have to share this with my Mom, who is an avid quilter!

  2. 色々な色の写真が好きです。 Looks fun. I thought they were drums but I am surprised to hear that the music is soft and soothing.

    Enjoy your week, Evelyn

  3. It must have been really nice.

Just heard on the radio about the typhoon... I hope that's the last terrible thing happening this year...

  4. The colors are wonderful and so I image is the festival!

  5. Happy vibes.

Please have a good start into the new week.

  6. Hi, Kaori,
Long time no see and thank you for your kind comment.

He is playing very intriguing musical instrument. I wish I could listen to his music.
Now, we have cool night in Nara. I hope the lingering summer heat won’t come back. How about Tokyo?
    Have a wonderful week!

  7. I saw this instrument in Dublin last year , very nice sounds :)

  8. what i love most about this foto...
    colorful and festive.
but what caught my eye was that quilt like pattern, really beautiful.

  9. Nice colorful capture, Kaori. The instrument he is playing looks like none I've seen before either; they look like modified cymbals. We could use more peace festivals.

  10. It’s called a hang. Sounds gorgeous.

Thank you so much! Love it when you comment! xx
