How was everyone's Christmas day?
I had a nice and relaxing day with family at home. It's always great getting to spend time with the whole family, which becomes harder to do once most of the kids move out. But we try to get together and it's all the more special when we can.
I know I've posted too much of these lovely yellow leaves this month but I can't get enough of them! Since it rarely snows in Tokyo, I'm glad we got to enjoy the colorful trees longer than usual in Shinjuku.
Compliments of the season and best wishes for 2011
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, you can post a yellow snow photo every day. I like the soft yellow triangles on the hard black diamonds in that first photo.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a nice shot of those beautiful leaves here.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you for the New Year, Kaori.
It sounds like a nice Christmas and I like your photos here today. We spend Christmas with assorted children and grandchildren!
ReplyDeleteNot as relaxing as these yellow leaves. hahahaha It was more of a go, go, go!
ReplyDeleteThose gingko trees have really been a gift to y'all this season. It is miraculous how long they have lasted! And the color is so vibrant! They look better and better with each photo that you post! - I especially like the double pattern of that first one. It is so modern and graphic and spare. Black diamonds and yellow leaves. That design would look good on fabric. Maybe it will show up on curtains and pillows soon! - You were right about the chocolate candy canes in my photo yesterday. What a sharp eye you have! I had to go back and look at it again to see if they were. - I'm glad that y'all had a Christmas with family. We did too. We enjoyed retelling stories of the funny and sometimes naughty things that we did as children. Lots of laughs with that!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are long gone here and no snow either...
ReplyDeleteNot bad, thanks, but I am glad it is over...
ReplyDeleteThe top design is gorgeous: Almost like a close up of a kimono pattern.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever feel like taking one of those trees home with you, there is a way...
If in a few weeks you miss those colors, there is a place where ginkgo leaves on the ground stay yellow for quite a while.
I’m glad you posted these photos. The fall, oops, make that winter yellows of gingko leaves (not to mention chrysanthemum petals) really warm my belly sometimes.
As you can see your ginkgo leaves inspired me today but I couldn’t find anything as nice as your photos.
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas Kaori, being with family is what it's all about yeh! p.s. can never have enough Autumn leaves, even in Winter.
ReplyDeleteKaori,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful patterns the fallen leaves of Gingko are making! Gorgeous photos. I have strange feelings whether it is autumn or winter sometimes. This year, autumn colors have continued much longer than usual in Nara also.
I wish your Happy New Year!

Hello all! Thank you so much for all your comments. I appreciate it always! xx
ReplyDeleteLove that top shot!!! And I wish I had a longer fall this year...winter is definitely here, but no snow so it's brown and a bit desolate...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your wonderful colors!!!
Who will ever tire of such lovely leaves? I'm glad you were able to spend the holidays with your family. I always miss my sister and brothers badly during Christmas. Wishing you a beautiful and happy new year, Kaori!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the top photo. It is so pretty! Hope you had a nice time. Ev
