Falling Out of Summer

Purple is my favorite color so of course I had to snap a shot of these pretty flowers.

This morning it felt like autumn. A very very hot autumn, but still autumn none the less. You may think that would just be summer...but there was something in the air.

Can you feel autumn just around the corner, too?

  1. Not quite yet, but I'll take your word for it. (Purple, or maybe lilac, is my favorite, too.)

  2. Very pretty flower, I don't think I've seen it before.

Yes. The trees are beginning to turn brown and it's cool, almost cold...

  4. The days are shorter.

What a beautiful image. I can see it in enamel. Or a polychrome Traditional Japanese Painting. Like something in this realm. Or best of all: as a photo on a Kaori Notecard!

  5. There's something in the air here too Kaori, in two days it will officially be Spring. Autumn and Spring are the best!! Your purple flowers are lovely!

  6. Oh, I love that deep purple! When I saw the thumbnail of this, I thought that you had taken a photo of wisteria, but I see that it is not. - And you are right about it feeling like autumn. Even though we are having some of the hottest days of the year, there is still something different about them. Some undefinable difference in the atmosphere. It makes me sad. I never want to let go of summer.

  7. I took another look at those flowers. That looks like wisteria, but the blooms are different from the wisteria that we have here. IS this wisteria?

  8. Nice pic.
    I like autumn.
It's hot and cold in San Francisco depending on which on the part of town you are in. I never leave home without a sweater and a hat... Sometimes I see people wearing their winter jackets... and boots in summer!

  9. Beautiful colour! Yes, I can feel autumn. There's a new softness in the air, but I bet September is going to wallop us with a few really hot days. PS: Have you noticed that some trees in Shinjuku (near the Post Office) have started turning brown?

  10. It gets darker nearly an hour earlier over here and from eight in the evening people turn on the lights.

Great picture ! Please have a wonderful Tuesday.

  11. Yes, autumn is near. The days are getting shorter, maple seeds are getting ready to fly, and the color is shifting from green to yellow.

The flower is beautiful, I like the delicate white lining on the edges.

  14. I don't feel it because it is so hot here still, but I can see a little bit of fall in the angle of the sunlight.

  15. No, no autumn here... just rain. We just said goodbye to another typhoon. When I saw your flower, I thought, "hey, she got my photo!" :-D Kidding, of course, but I do have a very similar shot of this pretty purple flower.
