Ring, Pray, Photo

Kakanzan Taiso Temple is located one street over from yesterday's Hokosha Tengoku.

This rope is connected to a bell, which you can see in the reflection. After throwing in coins in the offering box, we pull this rope to ring the bell before praying.

From the looks of this rope, you can tell many people have prayed here.

  3. It is great that in a huge city, there is such a quiet place. I wondered how many people rung this bell and prayed. Very expressive shot and I love it.

    Kaori, have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Admirable composition. I like the old aspect of the used rope, and the colors so vivid on the picture... Nicely done !

  6. Fantastic photo with such interesting facts behind it! Sadly, I bet that bell has been used a lot lately.

  7. I'd like to pull that rope, if allowed, the fact that it is so used is even more fascinating.

  8. I agree with Francisca—great title. With an ever-present camera in your hand clapping might not be the best option.

Your art director really got a good match (and contrast) of colors fore and aft.
