One of my favorite sounds to hear in the summer are the Fu-rin (風鈴), which are traditional Japanese wind chimes.
There are many types of Fu-rin, but the glass ones are my favorite. The tinkling sound is very light and summery. Many people hang these outside on the terrace to enjoy the sound.
What sound is summer for you?
冷房の温度を上げ、室内の明かりを落とすと軒下の風鈴がより身近のものに感じられるようになりましたね。日本の夏がほんの少し鮮やかになった気がします。とても素敵な風景をありがとう。
ReplyDeletesadly, summer here was a bit wee-over. ^0^ but it reminds me of the beach which i haven't been for quite some time, mostly, it means holidays are longer, therefore more time to relax and unwind...
ReplyDeletebeautiful wind chime btw.
Oooh, I love this wind chime! Very different from what I see over here.
ReplyDeleteMy sound of summer is... waves... But I would love to hear this one, it's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love wind chimes! These are quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteHow unique -- never seen anything like it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a few wind-chimes around our home, and I'd be happy to add this one. Birds chirping is also a sound I associate with summer... except that here it's summer all year long! :-D
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice one, Kaori! I too like the glass chimes but, it's hearing the songs of migrating birds that does it for me.
ReplyDeleteHope it's not too hot in Tokyo! I'm melting here... with humidity = 34 c
A hand-painted glass-globe wind chime. That’s a first for me. The design looks like fireworks bursts; the sounds of which sure are one sound of summer (outside of Chichibu).
ReplyDeleteThe sound of summer for me? Maybe something like this. If if you know know what I mean mean.
When I was young my dad built a small water fall out of barrels next to our deck. Happy memories of falling water and a gentle breeze blowing the wind chimes.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love wind chimes. But I wonder if listening to the same sound all the time will drive me crazy... mmmm, gotta be a really nice sound.
ReplyDeleteThe sound of chimes is for every season, imho! Love them & this magical pic, Kaori.
ReplyDeleteHow about this for the fragrance of summer?
ReplyDeleteThe sound of summer for me is cicadas chirping in the evening. But I think I would like wind chimes too.
ReplyDeleteCool photo. Did you get a new camera? And yes, I've started to post photos again
ReplyDeletenice pic , i'd like to have one like this ! Sound of summer ... the cicadas singing :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about all you summer sounds! Thanks so much for the comments :D
ReplyDeleteTen, no it's the same one I had in DC! Welcome back! xx ;-D
Sea waves? Or the whir of an ac unit... I'd love one of these!
